Privacy policy

Last updated: September 22, 2026

This Privacy Policy describes how BALANZI LTD ("BALANZI", "we", "us") collects, uses, and shares your personal information when you visit or make a purchase from balanzi.com (the "Site").

Personal Information We Collect

When you visit the Site, we automatically collect information about your device, including your web browser, IP address, time zone, and cookies installed on your device. We also collect information about the pages and products you view, what referred you to the Site, and how you interact with it. We refer to this as "Device Information".

We collect Device Information using:

  • Cookies: data files placed on your device, often including an anonymous unique identifier. For more about cookies and how to disable them, visit allaboutcookies.org.
  • Log files: which track actions on the Site and collect your IP address, browser type, internet service provider, referring and exit pages, and date/time stamps.
  • Web beacons, tags and pixels: electronic files used to record how you browse the Site.
  • Session recording and heatmaps: we use Microsoft Clarity to record a reconstruction of your visit, including mouse movement, scrolling, clicks and taps, and the pages you saw. This helps us find broken and confusing parts of the Site. Session recording runs on balanzi.com only, not on our checkout, so payment details are never recorded. Read Microsoft's privacy statement at privacy.microsoft.com/privacystatement.

When you make or attempt to make a purchase, we collect your name, billing address, shipping address, payment information, email address, and phone number. We refer to this as "Order Information". We do not store credit card details. Card details are handled by our payment processors.

If you contact us by email or live chat, we collect the contents of that conversation together with your contact details, so we can answer you and keep a record of what was agreed.

"Personal Information" in this Policy means both Device Information and Order Information.

How We Use Your Personal Information

We use Order Information to fulfil orders (processing payment, arranging shipping, sending invoices and order confirmations), to communicate with you, to screen orders for risk and fraud, and, where in line with the preferences you have shared with us, to send you information or advertising about our products.

We use Device Information to screen for risk and fraud (in particular your IP address), to measure how our advertising performs, and to improve the Site.

Who We Share It With

We share Personal Information with the following service providers, each for the purpose described:

  • Shopify: powers our online store, checkout and order records. shopify.com/legal/privacy
  • Meta (Facebook and Instagram): advertising and measurement. We send Meta details of your activity on the Site both from your browser and from our servers (the Conversions API). This includes identifiers matched to you, such as your email address and name in hashed (scrambled) form and a site-generated identifier, so Meta can attribute activity to an account. facebook.com/privacy/policy
  • Google (Analytics and Tag Manager): measurement and tag delivery. policies.google.com/privacy. Opt out at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
  • TikTok: advertising and measurement, where that channel is running.
  • Elevar: routes our measurement data to the services above.
  • Klaviyo: email and SMS marketing. Holds your contact details and a record of your activity on the Site and with our messages. klaviyo.com/legal/privacy
  • Microsoft Clarity: session recording and heatmaps, as described above.
  • Gorgias: our support inbox and live chat.
  • Judge.me: collects and displays product reviews.
  • Stripe, PayPal and Sezzle: payment processing. They receive the payment details you enter; we do not.
  • Our shipping partners: to deliver your order.

We may also share Personal Information to comply with applicable laws, to respond to a subpoena, search warrant or other lawful request, or to protect our rights. We do not sell your personal information for money.

Behavioral Advertising

We use your Personal Information to show you advertisements we believe may interest you, including on Meta, Google and TikTok. Under some US state laws, this is described as "sharing" or "targeted advertising", even where no money changes hands.

For more, see the Network Advertising Initiative's educational page at networkadvertising.org.

You can opt out of targeted advertising through:

Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control

We do not currently change how we collect and use data in response to a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal from your browser. If you want us to stop sharing your information for advertising, email support@balanzi.com and we will action it, and confirm when it is done.

Your California Privacy Rights

If you are a California resident, you have the right to:

  • Know what personal information we have collected about you, where it came from, why we collected it, and who we shared it with.
  • Delete the personal information we hold about you, subject to exceptions such as completing a transaction or meeting a legal obligation.
  • Correct personal information that is inaccurate.
  • Opt out of sharing your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
  • Not be discriminated against for exercising any of these rights. We will not refuse service, change prices, or reduce quality because you did.

The categories we collect are: identifiers (name, email, phone, address, IP address, site identifiers), commercial information (what you bought and looked at), internet activity (how you use the Site, including session recordings), geolocation inferred from IP address, and inferences drawn for advertising. We disclose these to the service providers listed above. We share identifiers, commercial information and internet activity for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16.

To exercise any of these rights, email support@balanzi.com. We will verify your request against the information we already hold, and respond within 45 days. You may use an authorised agent.

Your Rights in Europe and the United Kingdom

If you are a resident of the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, and to ask that it be corrected, updated, deleted, or ported to you. You may also object to or restrict how we use it, and withdraw consent where we relied on it. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at support@balanzi.com. You have the right to complain to your local supervisory authority.

We process your information to perform our contract with you (fulfilling your order), to meet legal obligations, on the basis of your consent (marketing messages), and on our legitimate interests in running, securing, measuring and improving our business.

Your information will be transferred outside Europe, including to Canada and the United States, under the safeguards our providers have in place.

SMS Marketing

By subscribing to BALANZI text notifications, you agree to receive automated marketing text messages from us about our products and services at the phone number you provided. Message frequency is recurring. Consent is not a condition of purchase. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for support.

Data Retention

When you place an order, we keep your Order Information for our records and for as long as we are legally required to, unless you ask us to delete it. Session recordings and advertising identifiers are kept for a shorter period, set by each provider.

Changes

We may update this Policy from time to time to reflect changes to our practices or for operational, legal or regulatory reasons.
